The idea is that you buy only what you need – a basic package to begin with – and customise your package as your needs change, a neat and very versatile approach to hosting that will certainly win many friends. With a commitment to affordable hosting, full customer service – 24 hours a day – and a variety of deals and packages that will cover most eventualities, 2MHost is a recommended choice for anyone looking for a cut price, reliable and expandable deal.
Value For Money
Starting with the basic 2MHost package – at $2.75 a month – you get 2.5GB of disk space, a website builder and all the accessories you could need, with the offer of a domain name at $8.75 per year. This is not the greatest package we have seen, but it is very good value for money, and considering the entire package is expandable as needed it begins to make sense. The business package – at $7.50 per month – offers 15GB of disk apace and 100GB of monthly transfer along with the useful promise of only 200 sites per server and 100% uptime, and we think this a very good package indeed.
Reliability
Promising a 100% uptime guarantee may seem foolhardy to some, but 2MHost does so and with confidence. Customer testimonies are, on the whole, positive and the company has built up a selection of dedicated and happy return business customers, while a full money back guarantee is something that is expected these days and comes as part of each package. Overall, a good deal and if they can keep those promises a very good reliability guarantee indeed.
Customer Support
24 hour customer service is promised by 2MHost and there appears to be a general air of satisfaction with this service. The panel for access is simple to use via a personal password and a quick response guarantee is in place for email or telephone requests for technical support. With a promise of no overcrowding – and a dedication to not hosting certain types of site that are traffic heavy and conducive to poor performance – there is much to like here.
Control Panel
It is cPanel all the way at 2MHost and the more we find this system included in offerings from a wide range of hosting companies the more we understand that as an industry standard, award winning package that is constantly improved it is difficult to beat. Nevertheless, we do like to see bespoke control panels, but if one is not forthcoming there is nothing to match the easy to use and warmly familiar cPanel.
Environment
No dedicated policies here, but 2MHost’s use of redundant power and commitment to energy efficient servers and lightweight numbers means it scores higher than some in the ecologically sound stakes.
