If you are going to compare the packages provided by The Planet to others who offer hosting for a few dollars a month you are going to be disappointed, but that is not what this company is all about. With a range of truly dedicated hosting options offered there is much to be interested in here, and while this is not a package that will appeal to the home user the business user will be very interested in the reliability and security offered by the dedicated hosting approach. At $129 per month the basic package may look like a mammoth investment, but when you consider that this is a completely dedicated, rather than shared, package with all that entails, and that the amount of space and bandwidth here is simply incomparable to others, for businesses this is actually a viable package.
Reliability
What is interesting is that The Planet promises a 100% uptime guarantee, something that may at first seem hard to achieve but which is borne out by some impressive customer testimony. By focusing on dedicated servers there is much to achieve in terms of security and reliability and to a great degree that is what the customer pays for.
Customer Support
The Planet receives some very impressive reviews when it comes to the levels of customer support offered, and it is fitting that a hosting company which has chosen to take a different approach is so highly regarded by those in the business. With a long established customer and technical service department to rely on there is much to recommend this high end company, and business users, after all, are all about keeping things going all the time.

The Planet has an approach to control panels that, while using cPanel based styles, is geared towards the individual company. This is not a hosting service that you pay a few dollars to each month and get a set package – this is a much more in depth partnership that offers a great deal of satisfaction for the money.

As with many companies – both in this area and elsewhere – there is little commitment to green issues, but The Planet scores with its dedication to its own data centre and a sense of future worth that is missing in many rivals.
